This past Sunday, the Chapel at Pasadena officially installed our new lead Pastor. Since the death of our founding pastor in April 2021, the Chapel has been served by several interim pastors. Derek Berry did a wonderful job of bridging the gap as our church recovered from Chuck Ryor’s unexpected death, and for the last year Steven Crawford has been leading. After several interviews and a lengthy vetting process, the elders with the affirmation of the search committee called interim lead pastor Steven Crawford to the role of permanent lead pastor. Steven and his wife Tanya enthusiastically accepted! Steven and Tanya have been members of our Chapel community since late 2016. Steven spent eleven years working in campus ministry with the Navigators, primarily at the University of Southern California. In 2017, Steven accepted a part-time staff role at the Chapel and worked closely with Pastor Chuck for several years. Steven became in elder in 2019 and in the winter of 2020 served as the interim lead pastor for three months while Pastor Chuck was on a sabbatical. Steven and Tanya moved to Escondido in the fall of 2020 so that he could attend Westminster Seminary California, where he was awarded a Master of Divinity in May of 2023. Steven is excited to take up this new role and eager to see how God will use the Chapel to expand the glory of God in Pasadena and all over the world!
